The SCM530 fStreaming Current Detectors drives the piston to reciprocate in the sensor cylinder through an electric motor, maintaining the continuous flow of the water sample. At the same time, it generates a shearing effect, turning the charged ions surrounding the colloidal particles in the water into freely charged ions. The movement of these charged ions charges the electrodes beneath the cylinder, generating alternating currents between the electrodes, which are called flowing currents. By analyzing the value of the flow current, the SCM530 Streaming Current Detectors can automatically adjust and control the addition of flocculants to optimize the coagulation process and reduce the cost of chemicals.

The Bebur SCM530 Streaming Current Detectors mainly consists of a sensor and a controller. The basic principle of the sensor is shown in the figure:

The piston of the sensor moves up and down reciprocally within the annular electrode. When the water sample with coagulant added passes through the online swimming current meter sensor, The water in the annular space of the electrodes also moves accordingly. The double electric layer of the colloidal particles is disturbed, and the water flow carries the counterions in the colloidal diffusion layer to move together, thereby forming a flow current. This flow current is collected by the electrodes at both ends, amplified by the signal amplifier, and rectified into a direct current signal for output. When the concentration of colloidal particles in water changes, the detection values collected by the SCM530 Streaming Current Detectors will also change accordingly. In this way, real-time and reliable detection basis can be provided for the coagulation effect of the raw water.
After the controller reads the flow current value detected by the sensor, it will convert the flow current value and display the detection value intuitively. The controller is equipped with PID control function. After comparing and calculating the flow current value with the set reference value, it will output a 4-20mA signal for adjusting the opening degree of the metering pump or dosing valve.
The SCM530 Streaming Current Detectors can be optionally equipped with a self-cleaning function. According to the set cleaning time, the sensor of the flow current meter can be flushed at regular intervals, which can enhance the adaptability of the SCM530 Streaming Current Detectors to poor water quality conditions.
